To extend its commitment beyond beauty, MOP Beauty presents Mother of Purpose: 100 Trees for Meaningful Birthdays, a special birthday initiative that pays tribute to influential figures whose presence and contributions continue to inspire the beauty industry and community. In place of traditional gifting, each birthday is commemorated through the planting of mangrove trees, a living symbol of growth, gratitude, and lasting impact. Located at Pantai Mangunharjo, Semarang, these mangroves contribute to coastal ecosystem restoration while supporting the long-term vision of the "MOP Mangrove Forest," a legacy rooted in meaningful celebrations, shared milestones, and collective impact.

About the Location

Mangunharjo Beach, located in Tugu District, Semarang City, Central Java, has been a pilot ecosystem conservation initiative for the surrounding area. This beach is also used for tourism due to its gentle waves. However, the coastline in this area is slowly shrinking due to abrasion, leaving only 1 km from residential areas.

LindungiHutan planted Rhizophora mangroves to trap soil sediment in the hope of creating new land. Furthermore, mangrove planting also enhances the aesthetics of the tourist area. This mangrove planting activity has been in collaboration with the local community since 2017.
